MSU @ CMU postgame thoughts
By TheChipReport.com
This game was very ugly if you are a Chippewa faithful. My attention span has withered so I will just you give a list of key points I was able to away from the game:
-The defense looked very good in this one. I know, this is crazy right? I mean, they gave up 41 freaking points..?! They were put in some tough spots through out the game with the ineptitude at the QB position.
-Speaking of quarterback play, Ryan Radcliff was awful in this one. He was indecisive and it showed with his floating passes. Every time he made a throw it felt like the ball just barely got the receiver before the coverage hit. A better day for Radcliff makes this game much closer.
-The offensive game plan was terrible. It seemed the Chippewas offensive line was really able to control the line of scrimmage. I would have loved to see the Chips run the ball until MSU proved they could stop the run. Out of the gates it was clear that Enos felt he needed to throw it often to beat the Spartans.
-I usually buy season tickets and I made the mistake of not this year (I will only be able to attend 2 games). CMU ticketing put my 4 purchased seats ($55 a pop) on the wrong side of the field and I was stuck sitting next to old man river, an MSU slappy. I was yelling my face off to start the game (something appreciated on the alumni side) and was nearly booed out of my own stadium. Old man river taunted me and it took everything I had to refrain from asking him to check his diaper.
-It was nice to see some points on the board when it seemed like CMU was headed for a shutout. Thank you, Jason Wilson.
-The muffed punt and the missed INT catch were the plays CMU needed early to put some doubt in the Spartan’s mind. The plays weren’t converted and well, CMU was trounced.
More to come on this one but I really need to simmer down first. Fire up Chips!

Very painful, to watch. I don’t know what to say. Defense looked good and that was a bit of a surprise to me. But, a few times we left receivers wide open. The offense looked like crap, you have to credit a tough msu d, but the opportunities were there. Why not give one of the young Qb’s a shot later in the game.
I hate to go to this, we have a long season to go. The sparty’s are a tough team this year. Everything starts with leadership. I will say this once now then shut-up, because there is nothing you can do about it in the middle of a season. Enos is not the answer. I am not that close to the program but as a fan. Heeke made a big mistake with this hire. I still don’t understand why you would go away from a winning format. Big Ten football will not work in the MAC.
I will continue to pull for the Chips, but I know things can be better and we do not have to settle for poor leadership. People just have to have the balls to make changes when they are needed. If I have a poor performer in my company I have to make the tough timely call to make changes for the betterment of the entire company. Going form top of the MAC to the bottom is just not acceptable.
I hope they (Heeke & Enos) prove me wrong. We have a strong group of guys and I feel confident they can get the job done with the correct leadership.
Can you say Tony Annese, Butch Jones assistant
